Abstrakt

We fill single-walled carbon nanotubes with a mean diameter of 1.7 nm with ferrocene and perform in situ studies on time-dependent inner tube growth by Raman spectroscopy. The evolution of Raman spectra dependent on annealing time is analyzed. It is found that inner tube growth does not follow a simple exponential model. The growth rates of inner tubes are calculated within a suggested growth model. It is found that the growth rate is higher for smaller diameter inner nanotubes.
