Superconducting transition behavior of TmBa<sub>3</sub>Cu<sub>3</sub>O<sub>7-δ</sub> and TmBaSrCu<sub>3</sub>O<sub>7-δ</sub> thin films

Abstrakt

We report an investigation of the superconducting transitions of TmBa/sub 2/Cu/sub 3/O/sub 7- delta / and TmBaSrCu/sub 3/O/sub 7- delta / thin films. A complementary analysis of the resistive broadening around the critical temperature T/sub c/ in high magnetic fields up to 13 T and of the fluctuation-induced magnetoresistance in the Gaussian fluctuation regime considerably above T/sub c/ revealed a unique set of parameters. In that way we obtained the zero-temperature in-plane, xi /sub ab/(0), and out-of-plane, xi /sub o/(0), coherence lengths and the specific heat jump Delta C at T/sub c/. Despite a significantly different T/sub c/ and normal-state properties, the fundamental superconducting parameters are very similar in TmBa/sub 2/Cu/sub 3/O/sub 7- delta / and TmBaSrCu/sub 3/O/sub 7- delta /.
